The one-time Camaldolese monastery, now Esterházy Mansion, is a beautiful and extraordinary location for the big day. The atmosphere of the building is uniquely intimate, the walls and furnishings preserve the monks’ mentality and the heritage of the later life of the counts. The refectory (dining room adorned with frescoes) of the former monastery is breath-taking. The wing of the counts recalls the atmosphere of 19th-20th-century mansions.
Welcoming guests
The inner courtyard of the monastery and mansion is ideal for both outside photography and welcoming guests. The ceremonial hall can accommodate 50-60 guests. The registrar and the wedding couple are located at a replica of a carved table once adorning the refectory.
Offer for ceremonies
The ceremonial hall is perfect for civil wedding ceremonies. We recommend the chapel of the monastery for church weddings despite the fact that it can accommodate only fewer guests (10-15 people). Due to its mentality and facilities, the place is not suitable for wedding receptions.
Offer for photography
The rooms and corridors of the monastery and mansion, the wall paintings of the refectory, as well as the wonderful drapery and period furnishings of the wing of the counts give a unique background for wedding photos. Experience suggests that the favourite photography location of couples is the refectory but gorgeous photos can be taken in any room of the building. The inner courtyard of the monastery and mansion is also a popular photography location.
